Primary Freight’s top-of-the-line shipping and logistics services have been honored at EGLN’s 3rd AGM.
The ELITE Global Logistics Network (EGLN) recently held its 3rd AGM in Ho Chi Minh City, welcoming a record-breaking 234 delegates from 150 shipping and logistics companies to four days of business and socializing in Vietnam’s largest city.
Based in Morganville, New Jersey, EGLN consists of 214 companies based in 131 different countries. Members of the network account for, on aggregate, more than $7.3 billion of revenue per year, and use the Network’s annual conference to establish working relationships with like-minded companies from across the globe.
In advance of each year’s conference, EGLN sends a survey to its members to solicit feedback on its performance and organizational priorities. It also provides a ballot for its annual awards gala, during which it recognizes its members’ achievements over the previous year. In each of the five geographic regions it represents, EGLN offers three major annual awards: Best of Communications, Best of Operations, and Best of Sales; it also bestows a prestigious “Best of Best” award on the company that excelled in each category. Since these honors are determined by the recipient’s peers and competitors, they’re highly coveted.
Primary Freight Awarded Best of Best in the Americas
This year, Buena Park, California’s Primary Freight was named the Best of Best in the Americas, a distinction EGLN President and Founder Roy Stapleton believes is well deserved. “John [Brown, CEO] and Katherine [Karalekas, New York Office General Manager] have shown themselves to be very personable people and very knowledgeable about their business,” Stapleton reports. “What’s more, they back up their words with service. If something goes wrong, they find a solution for the problem instead of hiding from it.”
According to Stapleton, the most successful shipping and logistics companies aren’t just those with the best sales teams. It’s important to secure new business, of course, but that won’t get you very far if you don’t have the expertise, dedication, and resources to hold onto it.
“You have to make the sale,” Stapleton explains, “but once you make it you have to look after the client — both in the short and long term. The personal touch, that experience of white-glove service, is important, and Primary Freight pays close attention to these kinds of details. Quite simply, that’s how they’ve managed to remain successful in such a competitive industry.”
